David Feldberg’s Excuses

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Disc golf pro David Feldberg had a two-stroke lead going into the final hole of the 2010 Japan Open before relinquishing the top spot to Nikko Locastro in a sudden death playoff. According to this video on Lifetime Disc Sports’s website, his nail ripped off, causing him to throw “50 feet short of everyone else”. He admitted that “everybody has an excuse out there, but honestly…my nail ripped off”. He proceeds to offer other excuses throughout the video why he couldn’t quite grab the win. Here are possible other excuses he could have used:

• Kept throwing discs upside-down to compensate for playing on the other side of the world.

• Confused Nikko for Carrot Top and was sidetracked trying to get his autograph.

• Accidentally smoked kudzu, which had no expected calming effects.

• Blamed the official because the disc was clearly in the chains.

• Upshot stuck in Nikko’s hair, two-meter rule in effect.

• Dressing up as a geisha girl did not allow the flexibility he needed.

• Forgot his lucky Ken Climo ear keychain.

• One word: vuvezela.
